One Day at a Time

Summer started out slowly for sure but recently it has been picking up pace. The sad thing is that it took until the middle of summer to do so. Lifes good so far. A lot of things happening in my life. A job is not one of them tho. My new blog with Priyanth is doing very well. We get a lot of traffic and I love to write in it. That is the main reason I don't update this blog as much as I did earlier. If you haven't checked it out it is called bearsbullscubs.blogspot.com Please feel free to do the poll and what not. Interactive was the main point I am trying to get across. Other than that, I got a new phone, Samsung Instinct, I am really happy with it. Probably more than if I had an iPhone 3g. Last week as well as this week were and are soo busy in a good way. Barrington Reunion which should be fun is coming up fairly soon. And, one of the highlights of my summer was watching the Dark Knight. Great acting, great story, great film. Another surprise, I was randomly put in a room with my friend from High School for dorming next year. How crazy is that? I can't wait for MRH. There is just soo much going on right now. Hopefully, sometime in the near future I get my photoshoot with the great Ryan Calacsan.

Efforts Elsewhere

I have a new blog site up with my friend Priyanth. It's more of a joint venture. We will be covering recent news in and around Chicago sports. I think this will be fun. The site right now is looking good. Hopefully, more ppl check it out. The site is bearsbullscubs.blogspot.com. Other than that, summer has been chill. I was supposed to hang out with Marq and Brad this last week but that never happened. I got a new phone which is really cool. And, I am still looking for a job. More updates to follow. Hope summers going well.

Chicago Bulls

Once the kings of the courts. They basically ruled the game. They were the best. Now what? We are shit. However, there is a God. A God that gave the Chicago Bulls an opportunity to redeem themselves from a 10 year suckiness spree. Number 1 pick. So right here, right now, I shall predict this upcoming season: the roster, the stats, and most of all the record and how far we will get in the playoffs.

A Little Bit of Basketball and A Dash of Chillin

It finally feels like summer.. and can I say I'm loving it.. I met up with friends of mine who Ive known for 8 years, I played a lot of basketball, Xbox Live :] and I also learned how to skateboard and its fun as hell.
I was starting to lose hope on summer because nothing was happening for a while.. Random thought.... I want the Lakers to win and I want Kobe to give 100000% cause he sucked it up the first game. He never took over.

Summer Endeavors

I finally got my blogspot to work again... Anyways, it feels like months since I left school when it has only been a mere 3 weeks. Within those three weeks I hung out with a lot of people. For instance, Ryan and Leiah, Thai, my best friends from the hood, Josh and Raj. With an exception of a couple of outings here and there (mostly with Ryan and Leiah) my Summer has been bumming around and job searching... Hopefully Summer will pick up and I will have something to write. By the way, sorry that I had a huge gap between posts.. My log in for blogspot was being weird. Hope all of you are having a fantastic summer!

Can't believe I'm saying this... this is the last day of freshman year.... This year went by quick.. Can't say I had a bad time here. I met a lot of cool people.... I lived a dorm life... experienced new things :P but most of all I got to live in Chicago. I hope I'll see more of the same next year. Now time for the shout outs!
Tony- You kicked ass.. you always helped me out.. when I needed someone in a non gay way.. you were there for me.
MT- It was cool hanging out with you.. it felt as if I never left the hood at all.
Garth- He'd be like the group badass.. in my view. We should definitely hang out this summer. Say my name.
Brad&Marq- You guys were crazy... we should hang out next year... Don't Mayo my door.
Mike- Sucha bro... we should meet up at streets fo sho.
Jason- We should definitely meet up sometime.
Ryan- We all knew you were a Butt Pirate all along.
All in all, this year has been good to me.. I should expect more of the same.. Right now I just want finals to get out of the way asap.. I wanna go home and play some GTA 4... I cant wait.

Weekend Update

Is it just me or are the dorms just really hot?? This weekend is going to be packed up with a lot of stuff to do... And considering I did all the homework I can possibly think of. I just have it easy from here on out. Today, me and the guys are going to Imaginasian.. I just want to check it out. After the show, there is an after party! That night will be historic. Saturday night is going to kick ass too. Why? Three word. The Forbidden Kingdom. and then it is 4/20 the next day.. So I know a lot of people that will be participating in that event. Other than that my life hasn't changed way too much. Other than that I got the last room in JST! Ha I made it into South Campus... thanks to Tony Ni.

Summer, Friends, Family... and most of all getting CRUNK

So close yet so far is the thought that most kids at UIC are thinking... It's kind of those things where you want to go.. but then again you don't. The people I met here are like my second family. Not to mention I love the city atmosphere. But, there is something missing. It could possibly be the fact that I miss my actual family at some points.. My best friends, who are basically my brothers, and you guys know who you are. This summer is going to be very interesting. Hopefully things will happen for the better. I know for a fact that I'll be hanging with Sudeep, Priyanth, and Maithili a lot over the summer. There is no doubt in that. And, I'll be looking forward to next year. Tony is my roommate! Other than that, I'm still thinking about Lollapalooza... Hopefully, it will work out. GTA 4... working... parties... trips.... CTF 08... all that good stuff. Did I mention hanging out with my new friends from UIC?? That will def happen. And I have to apply for honors college... sooner or later, and figure out if we are dorming at TBH or JST... or MRH.. but I don't see MRH happening. Well, whatever will happen.. will happen for a reason.. All we have to do is follow our path into the horizon and see what we have in store for ourselves.

One Month To Go

Looks like we are all just running out the clock people. Everyone is either looking forward for Summer or counting down till then... That being said, I too am one of the many who are just waiting for an almost 4 month Summer Break... It just hit me a couple of days back that the year is almost over.. Where did the days go? But, hey there is sooo much to look forward to. Hanging with the new friends and getting back with the old. Is there a possible road trip? We will see.. One thing is for sure tho.. I have Summer School and a job for most of break. I'm still mixing a lot of music.. my latest project is more of a street racing theme. So far I mixed two songs. I have a lot of tests coming up.. primarily Bio and Chem... I hope I do well in Bio.. that's my end of the year goal. One thing is for sure tho. Whatever comes my way... I'm ready.

The Past Two Days

Wed.-
After we got to Chicago, we headed to the NBC Tower to get some work done. We basically had to wait until 3 pm to check in. Until then we ate at an Indian restaurant, and then we went to the hotel to check in. We rested for a little bit and then went out again and went to Navy Pier and Michigan Avenue where I bought a new shirt. Then we went to P.F. Chang's which honestly was not even close to being worth it. Then we headed back to the room and Shruti and I watched Fresh Prince for the rest of the night.

Thurs.-
I got up at 9 and took a shower and we checked out at 11. We drove to McDonald's and picked up breakfast which was pretty decent. I went to my room to pick out a couple of stuff and then headed to Union Station to pick up the rest of the guys. We dropped off all of our stuff and went to Chipotle then random stores on State Street. We also walked passed Millennium Park while walking towards Navy Pier. Where Priyanth and I bought roasted cinnamon glazed pecans which were AMAZING. Then we headed to Water Tower Place then to Walgreens to buy some Sprite and Diet Coke. The rest of the night was history.

Fri.-
I got up at 9 again considering I slept at 3 the night before... one crazy night. I took a shower and all and went to my freshman advising appointment. After 15 minutes, I was out and we all went to Potbelly's then ran all the way to Union.. for no reason. Then we had an awesome train ride back home. And for some reason, driving home there was a high demand for ventilation :]

The Intercontinental

Hey guys, I won't be able to post until Friday afternoon so I'm posting now. Anyways, I'm off to Chicago today. My family and I are staying in the Intercontinental Hotel which is on Michigan Avenue. It looks super nice. So today we check in then go around Chicago then come back. Tomorrow, I will be leaving early and I'm going to meet up with the rest of my peeps at either Union Station or back at UIC. It's supposed to rain tomorrow... but whatever. Then we shall party that night. Then I have a Freshman Advising Appointment Friday morning. I will go further in depth after everything happens.. I will also post up pics. Thanks for tuning in. Hope your break is going well... or hope your surviving school. Later.

When The Day Met The Night: Review of the new Panic at the Disco CD

As promised I'm writing a review on the new Panic at the Disco CD named Pretty. Odd. Good name since it describes the CD pretty well. That's right folks. The CD is not what I imagined. The band also mentioned while they were writing the songs that the CD had a completely different sound than its predecessor. Panic.. I'm very disappointed. Other bands followed the same approach. Most recent, being Linkin Park with Minutes to Midnight, and The Killer's with Sam's Town. Some bands try to make the change less subtle like Fall Out Boy. Listen to Take This To Your Grave then to Infinity On High... You will see what I mean. However, back to the topic at hand. Pretty. Odd. The sound of the new album is mixed. It switches from alternative to classic rock to a 30's feel then it sounds like The Beatles. This kind of cross genre form of writing reminds me of The White Stripes. But, please Panic... let The White Stripes do it. I want the old Panic back.. Yeah the one with the ! I want Panic! at the Disco. Enough with the bashing tho. There are 2 songs I liked in the CD. One that many have heard, Nine in the Afternoon, and When the Day Met the Night. Give those two a try. Final grade? C. I'm giving the CD a C because it probably takes time for it to grow on you. Hopefully, it grows on me. Once again... Check out Eric Pribramsky's Radio Show.

GTA 4

I preordered Grand Theft Auto 4... and now it shall join my collection. Spring Break is going well... My sister is acting like a tool. Can't wait till Thursday. I have nothing to do today. I did all my homework? Wow.. break sucks. Kudos to Eric Pribramsky and his MonkeyBoyMadness Show.. I want all of you to check it out.. It's a great show. Eric and all his friends did a damn good job putting the shows together. It actually sounds like a real radio show (www.monkeyboymadness.com). Other than that shout out, I have an update to the whole vacation thing... Previously, I told people that I was going to be busy on Monday and Tuesday.. but my dad pushed that back Wednesday and Thursday... but I'm leaving early. We are staying in the Intercontinental in the city and go buy stuff.. Wooh! In the latest music biz scene, Panic at the Disco, previously known as Panic! at the Disco, is releasing a new cd tomorrow. I'm gonna get it and write a review on it either tomorrow or later this week. There is no progress on the band so far. I'm guessing it won't start until after break; nevertheless, I'm pumped for it. Everyone, keep it real, remember to check out Eric's Radio Show. And, stop by sometime this week.

Spring Break: The UIC Way. (no pics)

Nice way to start out Spring Break eh guys?.. Actually I'm looking forward for Thursday to come.. thats going to to be tight. A lot of my friends are going back to school today actually because they had break last week. Other than free time during break I have to do a lot of homework. Read 5 Chapters in Bio, and do online Chem homework... haha what a way to start it off. After this week, I have one month of school left. This year flew past like no other. It must have been the fastest school year I have ever had. I will have a lot of good and bad memories of this place. People I liked and disliked. Things I loved and hated. The 5 star UIC food. Not. But, Summer is right around the corner. You know what that means. Summer School! And work. But Im going to have morning classes and work early hours so I have the whole afternoon to myself. Plus, I have to figure out if I'm living in JST or TBH next year still... We shall see how it goes. Words of advice: Random shit happens, just go with the flow.

All Good Things End Sometime.

That's how it looks like right now... How homo is that? Anyways, I had a French test today.. I did aight. And, yesterday I went out with Khushbu, Omar, Siva, and Maithili.. and walked around Michigan Ave. I came back and found out that my dance crew, Kaba, lost America's Best Dance Crew... but oh well.. all good things end sometime. Much like the 50 degree weather.. and the fact that Freshman year will end in one month... time passes by quickly.

Let's See

Days till freedom I think as I look out the window. Classes are easing down since Spring Break is coming up in a couple of days. I only have a French Test coming up soon. I am planning to take a little break from mixing to focus on some of the band things that are going on. Mainly, it's just me writing songs. I have 5 written as of now. Some of which I'm not to happy about so they wouldn't make it in the end. As for the whole synth thing, I've been working on some tunes at home with my sisters Yamaha piano/synth and I have some ideas. Recently, I've been listening to Gnarls Barkley, Lupe Fiasco, The Postal Service, and Junkie XL. I really like the new Gnarls Barkley album The Odd Couple. I recommend the song Going On which I think is the 3rd track in the album. I'm still thinking about going to Lollapalooza with Sudeep and Roshan.. but from what I heard Daft Punk, Lupe Fiasco, and Muse are going to be in the show. and if all of them are in the same day that would be awesome. We will see how things turn out.

Back to Start

Going back to my online roots. I haven't blogged in a long while actually and I don't know how long I'll be on this. Nevertheless, it feels good to be back. My life is alright at the moment. Forgot to do Mandatory Fresh Advising but whatever. I've mixed a lot recently too.. I remixed a couple of The Postal Service songs. Brand New Colony being my favorite. Krystian won't be back for a while cause of his surgery... which sucks. But, I have the room to myself. wOOt. As far as the band thing goes.. Ryan said he has a synth which we will be using for now until Eric gets one. So basically we have two guitarists Eric and Ryan and synth and mixing is up to me. I think I'm gonna like this. And now for your enjoyment... Brad with a weed necklace.
