When The Day Met The Night: Review of the new Panic at the Disco CD

As promised I'm writing a review on the new Panic at the Disco CD named Pretty. Odd. Good name since it describes the CD pretty well. That's right folks. The CD is not what I imagined. The band also mentioned while they were writing the songs that the CD had a completely different sound than its predecessor. Panic.. I'm very disappointed. Other bands followed the same approach. Most recent, being Linkin Park with Minutes to Midnight, and The Killer's with Sam's Town. Some bands try to make the change less subtle like Fall Out Boy. Listen to Take This To Your Grave then to Infinity On High... You will see what I mean. However, back to the topic at hand. Pretty. Odd. The sound of the new album is mixed. It switches from alternative to classic rock to a 30's feel then it sounds like The Beatles. This kind of cross genre form of writing reminds me of The White Stripes. But, please Panic... let The White Stripes do it. I want the old Panic back.. Yeah the one with the ! I want Panic! at the Disco. Enough with the bashing tho. There are 2 songs I liked in the CD. One that many have heard, Nine in the Afternoon, and When the Day Met the Night. Give those two a try. Final grade? C. I'm giving the CD a C because it probably takes time for it to grow on you. Hopefully, it grows on me. Once again... Check out Eric Pribramsky's Radio Show.
